It was a Monday morning and brownie making was in SESSION! =)
Assistant/baker-in-the-making: Shirley TanYiXing (same as mine but w/o the 'g'; TanYiXin =D) also, whose birthday is TODAY! Happy 19th Birthday and thanks for yesterday.
Okay, back to business. Chocolate Brownie. Fudgy, chewy, melting bellied. YUMS.
Serving size: about 4 blocks? best to double =)
Ingredients:
Butter 125g (I used salted butter, see Salt)
Bitter sweet chocolate 4oz (1 bar)
Eggs 2 whole
Chocolate chips 1/2 cup
Vanilla extract 1 tbsp (but seriously, don't get too caught up with measuring this =D)
Salt 1tsp (I didn't add because I used salted butter)
Sugar 7/8 cups (use brown sugar for that extra fudgy-ness)
Plain flour 1/2 cup
Method:
Step 1: Take out butter and chocolate bar to soften for a few minutes. Preheat oven to 175 degree celsius. Line baking pan with foil and grease the foil.
TIP!: Save butter wrappers as grease-application-tool =)
Step 2: Melt butter and chocolate bar in a water bath (place a heat-proof bowl in a pot of boiling water)
Step 3: Add eggs one by one and MIX!
Step 4: Add vanilla, salt (optional, see above Ingredients), sugar and flour. MIX!
Step 5: Last but not least, add the chips and MIX!
Step 6: Pour batter into the foil lined pan.
Step 7: Place in the pre-heated oven for about 25 minutes.
I made a HUGE mistake: I was doing a double portion and I added 2 cups of chocolate chips instead of 1 cup. LOL. It was extremely chocolate-y and took longer to bake. Oh well, we learn from mistakes right?
Enough with the cliches. Just plain 'ol Winston =).
